COMPETITION BRIEF
Your client, a major (fictional!) company, is commissioning an architectural structure as part of its contribution to a more socially and environmentally aware environment.
Design a structure that captures the essence of 2007 in South Africa, and contains all significant contents in a space of up to 500m3. Bear in mind that a small group of people must be able to design, build and equip the TimePod.

Interesting design brief, am just curious to know if there is a limit to the number of entries per group?
Very interesting.
Its also more interesting that I would be participating from outside South Africa and i really hope to bring in something that would be as good designing from within South Afrca. Its a lot of brain work for me and a lot of computer browsing hours to get the best information on my 'fictional' South African client and the "of which little is known about" site and location
well, here i am looking through the Open ThinkBox 2007 competition submissions and the words and feelings that overwhelm me are excitement, thrill, amazement, respect, happiness! So many great ideas, creative designs, thoughtful social approaches and mind blowing graphic presentations! This world is a fine place to live in knowing that there are architects that take their work seriously, extend beyond delivering a ‘sexy work’ but projects that can make our lives and the planet we live on better in many other ways than by the means of the aesthetics. And you cannot not notice that they give all their hearts into their work!
This competition is evidently establishing itself as a inspiring forum for creative exchange, intellectual debate and sociological discussions. I want to send my personal thanks to all participants who made a fantastic effort and produced beautiful work. I can’t wait to share the results of their efforts with the rest of the worlds architects, as an inspiration to participate in the next years competition!

shucks! had I known there were 150 entries, I may have been too scared to enter myself! glad I only stumbled upon the blog one day before the results! oy. nogals noivous... see you tomorrow!

and how a bou result?
The competition is an interesting one. But i'm quite suprised that there are very few comments on the blog. When are the results coming out? I got an invitation to the awards ceremony, will the sponsors take care of my travel expenses into south africa.
I wonder if there is an extension, would have loved to submit mine-but something came up last minute! grrr, good luck to those that did. looking forward to seeing some entrees
